 There is NO CHARGE to attend the pre-conference, but please RSVP to if you plan to come.


Pre-Conference Childcare


  Childcare is available for the afternoon with crafts, games & a snack (recommended donation of $5/child)


Due to space limitations we will have the nursery on site at St. John's Church but the children's program for Friday afternoon is being held at Renfrew Baptist Church (1204 Renfrew Dr NE, Calgary, AB) a short 10 min drive from St. John's. We will have people there signing in children at 12:30pm to give everyone time to get back to St. John's by the 1pm start time for the pre-conference. Children will need to be picked up by 5:30pm. Please email   if you are planning on using the childcare on Friday afternoon or if you need the nursery on Saturday.

Owen Strachan


Owen Strachan is President of the Council of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and Editor-in-Chief of cbmw.org.  In addition to his CBMW Presidential work, Strachan is Assistant Professor of Christian Theology and Church History at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Boyce College. He is the Director of the Carl F. H. Henry Institute for Evangelical Engagement at SBTS. Most importantly, he is married to the lovely Bethany and is the father of three children.


Strachan is an elder at Kenwood Baptist Church and the author of seven books. He is a contributing writer for The Gospel Coalition and a fellow of the Center for Pastor-Theologians. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College (AB in History), The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv in Biblical & Theological Studies), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (PhD in Theological Studies).


During his PhD work, Strachan served as the Managing Director of the Carl F. H. Henry Institute for Theological Understanding and the Founding Associate Director of the Jonathan Edwards Center, both at TEDS. He has served as Editorial Assistant to SBTS President Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr. and Pastoral Intern at Capitol Hill Baptist Church under Dr. Mark Dever. Before coming to seminary, he was a Staff Intern in the Office of White House Liaison (U. S. Department of State) and an intern to the Commissioner of the Maine Department of Labor.




Jodi Ware


Jodi Ware grew up in Portland, Oregon, in a home blessed with Christian parents and four older sisters. She heard the Gospel from an early age, and professed faith in Christ at the age of eight. In 1978, she married Bruce Ware, and then worked in various jobs to put him through school. He is a professor of theology at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky.


Bruce and Jodi have two daughters. Bethany is married to Owen Strachan, a professor at Boyce College, and they have three children (Ella, Gavin, and Ainsley). Rachel graduated from Union University (Jackson, Tennessee), and is now attending Southern Seminary.


Jodi is involved in the music ministry and women’s ministry at their church, Clifton Baptist, in Louisville. She also works with the Seminary Wives Institute (registrar and teacher), and the Faculty Wives at Southern. She loves walking, reading, playing the piano, and meeting one-on-one with women, engaging in “conversational ministry.”
