Calvary Grace in Calgary: Oil-bucks and Big Trucks or the Buckle on the Bible Belt?
In a city of oil-bucks and big trucks, the idea of church may seem irrelevant. But the claims of Jesus Christ remain, and his church continues to be built, even here in Cowtown. Other people might think Calgary is the buckle on the Bible Belt, but they would be wrong. Calgary is in desperate need of the gospel as fewer churches hold forth the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection as the only hope of deliverance from the wrath to come.
At Calvary Grace Church, we seek to share the gospel through encounters with the preached Word of God in our services. Our website provides resources to strengthen and equip those who follow Jesus in this city of Westward pilgrims.
Since the days of tents on the Bow River, seekers have come to Calgary in search of new lives and Rocky Mountain highs. At Calvary Grace Church we offer the hope of rest from that weary search. It is not in the riches that oil and gas may bring, but in the flow of atonement for sin that comes from Jesus God’s Son, our Pioneer into eternity.
For He made him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5.21
