UNION Calgary, a Learning Community

Header - UNION Calgary

Are you seeking an accredited theological education? Are you presently working full-time, or otherwise unable to relocate elsewhere in Canada or to the United States for scripturally sound theological training? Do you live in Southern Alberta, within driving distance of Calgary? Are you seeking an education that is biblically faithful and honors the commitments and heritage of the Protestant Reformation?

If so, Union Calgary may be what you are looking for.

Union Calgary is a Learning Community for students in the Graduate Diploma in Theology program offered by Union School of Theology. The GDip is a fully accredited postgraduate theological education designed for potential pastors and missionaries who already have some education in a different field. Over two years of study, students will receive a grounding in theology that will help prepare them for frontline ministry, or for further education in accredited degree programs.

Students take courses in modules, three per week all on the same day, at Calvary Grace Church during the school year. The lessons are delivered in a hybrid environment, integrating online lectures with guided discussion and application and a strong mentorship component. Our lead Mentor is Clint Humfrey, lead pastor of Calvary Grace Church and a former professor at Toronto Baptist Seminary. Mentorship is designed to foster spiritual development and to integrate the academic content with the practical realities of Christian ministry and daily life. The online courses are taught by a variety of scholars, with past teachers including men such as Ray Ortlund Jr., Jim Hamilton, Michael Reeves, Robert Letham, and others.
